November
2007, our client needed to stabilize a rocky and very steep
slope at the direction of the local municipality. A living
wall was installed in order to create a suitable pad for vegetated
growth that would stabilize the difficult slope. 12 inch Filtrexx
Filtersoxx was injected with seed in order to produce a "grow
soxx" and then installed along the slope to create a
growth pad. A compost blanket was then blown-in on top of
the grow soxx to create optimal vegetation and stabilization
of the slope. As you can see in the pictures, the wall was
installed in November 2007 and growth was seen in March 2008.
The compost was able to hold the seed and start the germination
process through the winter so we could see growth in the spring.
